MIS/GIS Department
Mission Statement
The MIS / GIS Department's mission statement has two components; one for each of its main responsibilities.
(MIS) To improve inter-departmental communication, decision-making efforts and information related public services. To reduce data redundancy and reliance on inefficient methods of maintaining and obtaining information. To proactively maintain all network systems to minimize downtime and maximize user productivity.
(GIS) To improve access to spatially related information, provide a method for more sophisticated analyses and decisions by the Town’s staff, various Boards and the public, and to provide an easily updated, comprehensive set of geographic data sets. To actively maintain datasets and improve the usability and pervasiveness of GIS throughout the Town.
Technology Vendors:
The Town of Northborough purchases equipment, software and services through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts procurement contracts. All other major purchases will follow the Commonwealth’s procurement laws and open bid process. Sales calls and emails will not be returned.
